Roberto Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli was born in Florence in 1940 and he was the grandson of the painter Giuseppe Rossi, a leading exponent of the Macchiaioli artistic movement. Cavalli graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and soon after that he started a printing house, patenting an innovative method for printing on leather. At the beginning of the 70s, with the presentation of his avant-garde collection, a long journey into the world of entrepreneurship and fashion began, destined to last more than half a century: Roberto Cavalli becomes famous for his animal prints and the New York Times crowns him the king of “animal” clothes.
